Our editorial principles
PrepMorrow publishes practical preparedness information for U.S. households. Our editorial process is designed to keep safety guidance, editorial judgment and commercial relationships separate. A product being available through an affiliate partner never determines whether a preparedness requirement appears in a checklist or guide.
Source-first for safety-critical claims
When a statement can materially affect personal safety, health, evacuation decisions, carbon-monoxide exposure, drinking-water safety or another high-consequence outcome, we prefer authoritative primary sources. Depending on the subject, these may include FEMA and Ready.gov, CDC, EPA, FDA, NOAA, the National Weather Service, state or local emergency-management agencies and other responsible public bodies.
Established emergency-response organizations may be used as supporting sources, especially when they provide practical household context that is consistent with public guidance.
Official guidance vs. PrepMorrow interpretation
Official recommendations do not always answer every household question. PrepMorrow may translate source material into planning steps, calculators, comparison criteria or examples. We try not to present that editorial layer as if it were a government requirement. Where reputable sources differ because of scenario, location or assumptions, we explain the context rather than hiding the difference.
Product research and affiliate separation
Commercial content starts with a defined use case. Current merchant feeds may provide availability, price, images and published specifications. Those data can help match a product to a solution class, but feed inclusion is not equivalent to a review and does not prove real-world performance.
When we have not personally tested a product, we do not claim hands-on experience. We also avoid fabricated rankings, ratings or “best overall” labels that would imply comparative testing we did not perform.
Review and update process
Guides track source mappings, factual-review dates and editorial status. Safety-sensitive changes are prioritized. We may revise an article when official guidance changes, a source becomes unavailable, a calculation needs clarification, or new information materially changes the recommended decision process.
AI-assisted workflow
PrepMorrow may use AI-assisted tools for research support, drafting, classification, code generation and quality checks. AI output is not treated as an authoritative source. Safety-critical statements are checked against appropriate references, and the PrepMorrow Editorial Team remains responsible for the published result.
Corrections and reader feedback
If we identify a factual, safety or sourcing error, we correct the affected material and, where appropriate, update the review date. Readers can report a potential issue using the contact information published on PrepMorrow. See the Corrections Policy for how corrections are handled.
